Swimspo is a swimwear shopping website and iPhone app. It’s estimated that shoppers will spend $15B worldwide in 2014. Swimspo was created to meet the growing demand with a pair of solutions for the web and iOS. Products are populated using the Instagram API and connected to the brands’ webstores.
I was commissioned to create the user experience, visual designs, and branding for both the Swimspo iPhone app and responsive website. I conducted user research and testing to validate design decisions with the first version of the iPhone app.

How can people shop Instagram photos?
The most challenging, and crucial, piece of Swimspo was creating a cohesive shopping experience from product discovery to purchasing a swimsuit. To capture the spirit of current online shopping behavior I sat down and observed numerous users on both mobile and desktop devices. This resulted in a brand list page in which the images update continuously to feature the most popular products. I developed a discovery tool to help the community surface the most popular products.
Swimspo Web Experience
To create a seamless experience for shoppers a responsive web experience was designed to accompany the iOS app. As shoppers share products from the app we needed a home base that extended the shopping experience we built on top of Instagram photos.
